Torque tool re-calibration service

We’ve all been there and we all know it, too much torque will deform, shear, or break, your connections, too little and connections end up too loose, allowing them to vibrate, or back off under stress. Both conditions will result in antennae line alarms and remedial call-backs.

Huawei allowed 35% of the 5G network despite US warnings

Britain is a key battleground in the geopolitical tug-of-war over Huawei.

A final decision on how to deploy Huawei equipment in 5G has been made. Amid allegations that the Chinese equipment could expose our crucial national infrastructure to the risk of espionage and US threats to withhold crucial security intelligence, Huawei was classified as a “High-Risk Vendor” subject to an unsurprising 35% cap on access to non-sensitive parts of the network.

5G Rollout behind the curve

Whilst Hughes have successfully been working with operators across the UK to ensure timely delivery of 5G, Three announced this week that they would fail to meet their 5G target this year.

Three cited problems as diverse as mast equipment, backhaul transmission and landlords permission. Three’s initial statement also suggests that their plans to move all clients to the cloud is more complex than originally planned.

Hughes’ ingenious power and fibre distribution box is ready to roll

OneBox is the industry’s only distribution box that provides true black box, plug-and-play functionality, it reduces installation time by 80% and makes hybrid or separate fibre and DC installation error-free.

Powering 5G

5G is eagerly anticipated by all, the promise of high speed, low latency and the ability to shift large volumes of data, helping fulfil the early promise of wireless internet.

Prototype trials abound and whilst there’s still quite a long way to go one thing has become very clear, a whole lot more power is going to be needed to power the network.

NEX10® compatible interface X10® is the latest connector product offering by the Hughes Electronics development group tasked with providing advanced solutions for the telecommunications industry in the fight against PIM.

Hughes Electronics were the first company to recognise that a key to Pim mitigation is to separate the mechanical and electrical contact areas in connectors and have built that design feature into X10® the latest connector offering.

Keep It Clean And Carry On

A new study suggests that most installers don’t fully understand how important cleaning fibre interfaces before deployment is.

Greg Rymar at Hughes’ responded “Pristine interfaces are almost as important as good termination; time and again I’ve witnessed fibre being installed directly after removing the protective cap off a over connector and believing it to be clean deploying it immediately, perhaps worse cleaning connector end faces with standard alcohol wipes or worst of all deploying connectors that have long ago lost any ferule protection it ever had.

Management Problems!

Optical cables are set to lie at the heart of Britain’s superfast cellular networks but bad cable management is slowing downing down signals, incurring losses and under performance.

“The simple truth is that the industry relies on the same old school cable management techniques they’ve always used for Copper” says Carmelita Silva of Hughes Electronics.
