which is somewhat stiffer and has a higher softening
point (temperature), with comparable electrical
properties.

|
| Power level |
The ratio between the total power delivered to a circuit,
cable, or device and the power delivered by that device
to a load.

|
| Power overage |
Occurs when too much power is coming into a piece of
equipment. See also power spike and power surge.

|
| Power ratio |
The ratio of power appearing at the load to the input
power. Expressed in decibels.

|
| Power sag |
Occurs when the power level drops below normal and
rises to normal in less than one second.

|
| Power spike |
Occurs when the power level rises above normal and
drops back to normal for less than a second. See also
power overage and power surge.

|
| Power sum |
A test method for cables with multiple pairs of wire
whereby the mathematical sum of pair-to-pair crosstalk
from a reference wire pair is measured while all other
wire pairs are carrying signals. Power-sum tests are necessary
on cables that will be carrying bidirectional signals
on more than two pairs. Most commonly measured
on four-pair cables.

| Power surge |
Occurs when the power level rises above normal and
stays there for longer than a second. See also power overage
and power spike.

|
| Power underage |
Occurs when the power level drops below the standard
level. Opposite of power overage.

|
| Power-sum alien attenuation-to-crosstalk ratio, far end |
The ratio of the attenuation (signal) to the power-sum
measurement of alien crosstalk in the far end (noise);
a requirement of ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 for Category 6A
cables.

|
| Power-sum attenuation-to-crosstalk ratio, far end |
The ratio of attenuation to power-sum far-end crosstalk;
a requirement of ANSI/TIA-568-C.2; formerly known as
power-sum equal-level far-end crosstalk (PSELFEXT)
