"It was 20(6) years ago today…………" When the Beatles began their musical Journey I don’t suppose that they ever suspected their music would endure until the present day and beyond.
So it was when Hughes Electronics started their journey in the communications industry.
When Hughes began developing and supplying passive data cables and connectors to an infant data networking industry, PCs had green screens and computer networking came via coaxial cable and connectors; Cat 5 was not even a twinkle in the eye; the internet was a pipe dream and converged communications unthinkable.
The immortal words "Will you still need me..." turned out to be prophetic for the fab four and for Hughes Electronics too. Hughes are not yet 64 years old but their services are just as in demand today as they were in the days when they stepped in to save the data networking industry having to wait up to 32 weeks for coaxial connectors for thin Ethernet coaxial cable and developed the triple coax connector for the first colour screens delivered on triple coaxial RGB cable.
It’s been "A Long and Winding Road" that has taken in the development of an offset pin contact array for cat 6 connectors and above, an ADSL connector for the nations early ADSL rollout, an alpha prototype of a communications superstructure to carry, monitor and control energy and data and that now sees them in the late development stages of a legacy compatible ultra-low PIM connector for the LTE Advanced market.
