IP Telephony Runs Out Of Steam

Hughes Electronics solve the distance problem in VOIP using ‘Powerline Telephony’ system.

The problem of running IP telephony over long distances is – well distance!

voip

IP signals have no voltage and deteriorate quite rapidly after 100 metres.

Hughes have solved the problem by transferring VOIP signals to the powerline.

Glyn Hughes C.E.O of Hughes Electronics said ‘As part of our e.Power concept we have had our eye on the telephony (and other) markets from the beginning, we have been making telephone calls over the powerline here for quite a while now, it’s great Quality of Service, it’s green, and it’s lower cost. It’s a no brainer really’ ‘Moreover we can migrate VOIP signals between twisted pair LAN/WAN environments and our powerline environment seamlessly - when the twisted pair environment gives up the ghost, simply migrate to our powerline environment, we can kick the signal on for miles’!

‘Even better, telephone system manufacturers can run our e.Power app on their telephone handsets, allowing the user to view and control power consumption locally or throughout the building. And that’s only the first step, when TV and other white and brown goods manufacturers finally get around to networking their products, the telephone, powered by our technology will be the central command, control and communications device throughout the whole building.’

‘Together the powerline and telephony make a powerful combination' said Glyn ‘and Hughes Electronics are at the forefront of this exciting technology, we are now actively seeking (telephony) systems manufacturers of the right calibre to partner us in this exciting new space.
