Hughes Electronics have added Electric Vehicles to their fleet for local logistics.
The vehicles which have a range of 60 km and carry a payload of 435kg are deployed for local deliveries and journeys within the Hughes Central London Campus.
Glyn Hughes CEO of Hughes Electronics said;
‘As a company we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously all our company procedures are reviewed regularly from a sustainability viewpoint and a great deal of our R&D budget is involved in more sustainable communication methods, in addition wherever possible employees are encouraged to cycle to work, indeed we all feel very strongly that it is unsafe to put pedestrian vehicles on the road with powered vehicles and three of our cyclists are embarking on a campaign to put physical separation between pedestrian vehicles and powered vehicles’.
Our new vans have a top speed of 30mph so do not pose much of a threat, in fact most cyclists are faster than us!’
